Spam Policy

We are committed to helping reduce the problems of Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE) or 'Spam'.

The logo is designed to be a 'badge of trust' for permission marketing - when consumers see our logo on a subscription form they know that their data will be treated with respect, and it will not be used for purposes to which they have not consented.

The system allows only verified opt-in subscriptions, and ensures that all consumers can opt-out quickly, easily and permanently from any communication they receive, be it email or SMS.

Our definition of spam

  • We view any unsolicited, unexpected email/SMS as spam.
  • We don't allow use of 3rd party lists, whether consent has been gathered or not. We don't believe that consent is transferrable between organisations.
  • We believe that any communications sent to a subscriber about an unrelated subject to that which they requested to be kept informed about are spam.

Simplified management for subscribers

Every consumer who subscribes to a company that uses our services has their own free 'consumer account' which stores their personal details and a record of all of their subscriptions. This is accessed online, making it easy for consumers to update their details, opt-out, opt-in, and review what they are subscribed to, be it email, SMS or even direct mail.

All member companies are required to adhere to a strict code of conduct, and must be registered under the Data Protection Act where necessary.

Spam reports

If you have received a communication from a member and are unsure of why you have received it please forward the email, or contents of the text message to: abuse@ and we will look into the matter and contact you to resolve the issue.
